Medium: Top 5 Trends: Grammy Awards 2020

The 62nd Annual Grammy Awards took place last night in an emotional night filled with grief, celebration, and of course, good music. The night was overshadowed by the tragic passing of Kobe Bryant, one of the world’s greatest athletes; a tragedy made only more poignant by the show’s location in the Staples Center. Still, stars did their best to celebrate the music industry’s most talented.
The red carpet was an excellent preview of the unforgettable night to come as both celebrities and their stylists brought their best. An abundance of fringe brought an often-overlooked style to the forefront. Billy Porter’s Baja East ensemble stole the show. His motorized hat gave the internet a fringe heavy reveal it won’t soon forget. The material proved to be a favorite of rising star Rosalía as well. The Spanish pop star’s fringe-filled looks secured her a spot on the top of every best-dressed list.
Billie Eilish took home 5 Grammy Awards, including four of the show’s biggest awards, all while wearing the color of the night: lime green. Matching her iconic green roots, the star’s head-to-toe Gucci look brought the citrus shade into the spotlight. Ariana Grande’s Cinderella-inspired ballgown, Lizzo’s retro-glam ensemble, an FKA Twig’s gothic fantasy were also among the night’s most talked-about styles.
Read on for the biggest red carpet trends of the evening.
